Manuel Maqueda

My name is Manuel Maqueda. I am an international teacher, speaker and innovator with a focus on regenerative economics.

I regularly teach, consult and lecture on Circular Economy.¬† I created UC Berkeley’s Circular Economy Online Course, which became the most popular online course at UC Berkeley’s Extension.

I have a strong background as an impact entrepreneur, innovator, and serial NGO founder.   I am involved in a variety of organizations and projects to innovate our transition to a just, wise, thriving, life-sustaining and ardent culture, with a strong, pioneering focus on regenerative  innovations.

I am a transformative organizational consultant with a focus on circular economy. I have consulted for a number of notable forward-thinking organizations, including being a Strategy Advisor to Jeff-Bezos-funded Long Now Foundation, dedicated to fostering long-term thinking in the context of the next 10,000 years.

I am also the author of the forthcoming book The Meaning Economy, about how meaning is transforming the economy, and our future.

I am married to transformational dance activist Raquel Santiago, who founded the Alchemy Spinning supermindfulness practice. We share our lives with our identical twin toddler sons. We were all born in Spain, live in California, and consider ourselves citizens of the world.
